When encountering red food dye stains on counters, like those left by drinks, use rubbing alcohol, enough to leave a puddle on the stain. Leave it for several minutes and wipe away. Use a natural cleaner to finish.

Thinly slice 1 large lemon and place in a small pot of water, bring to a boil for 2 minutes then allow it to sit with no lid until cold. This will eliminate food odors.

To eliminate bacteria – cut an onion in half and leave on counter top. Discard after 24hours.

Mixing baking soda and pure peroxide in a spray bottle is excellent when used as a carpet and fabric stain remover. First try in an inconspicuous area to be sure carpet or fabric will not be negatively affected.

Put 3 tablespoon of baking soda down the drain, followed by a cup of white vinegar. Let it sit for a few minutes then run hot water down the drain for clean pipes.

Have watermarks on your finished wood furniture? Rubbing mayonnaise on the area can remove watermarks from the furniture finish. Then using a little lemon oil or grated lemon peel can restore original luster of your funiture finish.

To make your own homemade, natural, and non-toxic furniture polish; in a spray bottle, mix 1 cup of olive oil and 1 whole lemon juiced (peel and pulp in the juicer) or 1/2 cup of fresh squeezed lemon juice.

Make your own air freshener/air disinfectant by blending drops of essential oils with 2oz of 90% alcohol then add to 4oz water in a spray bottle. Let mixture sit for 24 hours before use. (Chamomile, lavender, eucalyptus and tea tree oils are safe for use around children 2 months and older).
